CHALLENGE

UberEats came to us with a problem they needed to solve: Eaters feel that UBEREATS is a splurge - How can we change this?

INSIGHT

Giving eaters control over how their meals are made empowers them and makes them feel like they are making healthier choices.  According to studies done by Johns Hopkins University and the University of Washington, people who cook at home consume fewer calories than those who eat out and are healthier overall. How could we use this information to help UberEats solve their problem?

SOLUTION

We developed a DIY Menu for the UberEats mobile App. Users can sort and choose restaurants based on whether or not the offer DIY kits and see what times they are available. First time users will receive a pop up explaining what DIY meals are and can add DIY meals to their carts just like normal. There is also an option to view and remove ingredients included in each meal kit.
